Electric Ireland Rewards Programme
Terms and Conditions of Membership

This agreement applies as between you, the User of the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme named ‘Electric Ireland Rewards’, and Electric Ireland, the owner of the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme and Electric Ireland Rewards website. By completing your registration with the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1.1. You must be a registered member of Electric Ireland Rewards Programme and a registered member of SuperValu Real Rewards to participate. Only one reward card can be registered. You must complete the Registration Form providing all mandatory details and preferences where indicated to register a SuperValu. You agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme and the SuperValu’s Real programme.

1.2. From the 25th of July 2022 Real Rewards members who have linked their Electric Ireland and Real Rewards accounts may be allocated Electric Ireland vouchers. The value of a voucher is €5 credit against the Electric Ireland account(s) registered on Electric Ireland Rewards and linked to your Real Rewards account. You will receive one €5 Electric Ireland voucher per Electric Ireland account providing you have made at least one transaction in a SuperValu store in the Republic of Ireland or with SuperValu online shopping in the previous two-month period. See “Terms and Conditions of SuperValu Real Rewards Promotion” below for further details.

1.3. To register as a user of the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme, you must be the account owner or authorised by the account owner. If you are not the account owner or authorised by the account owner, you are committing a serious offence under the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Act 2001)

1.4. Membership of the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme entitles you to receive emails and/or text messages from us with details of Loyalty Programme offers as deemed relevant by Electric Ireland. These offers may be for goods and services from Electric Ireland or from other brands Electric Ireland deem relevant and suitable for members of the Loyalty Programme. These offers may require further information or action from you to activate the offer. Details of these requirements will be given clearly to you in the email, in the text or on the Loyalty Programme website. Offers may be subject to availability.

1.5. To access your Loyalty Programme account, you must log in by completing your username and password. You are responsible for the safekeeping of your username and password and shall take all necessary steps to ensure that your log-in details remain confidential. You are responsible for all activities carried out under your username and password, whether authorised or not. If you believe that the security of your username and password may be compromised for any reason, please inform us, and change your username and password immediately. Electric Ireland is entitled to assume, without further inquiry, that all activities conducted under your username and password are being carried out by you until you inform us otherwise.

1.6. You may de-register from the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme at any time by emailing rewards@electricireland.ie. You will be deregistered within 1-2 days of receipt of your email.

1.7. Electric Ireland will automatically de-register you from the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme if you cease to be an Electric Ireland customer. You will be deregistered within 30 days of account cessation.

2.1. The Electric Ireland Rewards Programme website is subject to Electric Ireland's Data Protection Notice and privacy policy, which are available via these links or on www.electricireland.ie. In particular, Electric Ireland agrees that it will keep your personal data confidential and will not disclose it to any third party except where necessary for the administration of the Loyalty Programme or with your consent.

2.2. Electric Ireland may, however, use the personal details supplied for the following purposes: To help manage and administer your Electric Ireland Rewards Programme account and improve the way it is run; to help Electric Ireland understand its members habits and/or to provide a member with relevant tailored offers by email, SMS, or post, unless he/she opts out of the receipt of such. We may also use this data to promote offers from our partners that we feel may be suitable to you.

2.3. Personal details that an Electric Ireland Rewards Programme member supplies during the registration process will be processed by Electric Ireland with appropriate confidentiality. Other than as stated below, no personal details of persons who register for this scheme will be divulged to anyone or any organisation outside of Electric Ireland or its data processors, specified in these terms and conditions.

2.4. If an Electric Ireland Reward member wishes to change or update his/her details on his/her Loyalty account, he/she can do so online by updating his/her profile on the ‘My Profile’ page at www.electricirelandrewards.ie

2.5. Electric Ireland may also use information relating to sets or groups of customers, without identifying individuals, to enhance its understanding of customer behaviour and enable Electric Ireland to improve its service in general.

2.6. You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data. If you wish to avail of this right, you should submit a written request to service@electricireland.ie

All content included on the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme website, including, but not limited to, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, sound clips, video clips, data compilations, page layout, underlying code and software is the property of Electric Ireland or our affiliates or third-party licensors. Electric Ireland grants you a limited non-transferable licence to use such content solely for your own personal non-commercial use in connection with the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme. You shall not store, modify transmit, distribute, broadcast, or publish any part of the content for any other purpose. The re-selling, copying or incorporation into any other work of part or all of the material available on Electric Ireland Rewards Programme website in any form is prohibited save that you may print or download extracts of the material on this site for your personal information only.

4.1. You will indemnify Electric Ireland against any loss, damage, or expense which it incurs as a result of any failure by you to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

4.2. Except as expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions, all representations, warranties, Terms and Conditions, whether express or implied, and all liability on the part of Electric Ireland in relation to the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme or the information contained on this website are hereby excluded to the greatest extent permitted by law.

4.3. Electric Ireland accepts no liability in respect of your use of products and/or services you obtain directly or indirectly through the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme. All such products and services are governed by the Terms and Conditions of the relevant supplier. This does not affect your statutory rights.

5.1. These Terms and Conditions may be varied at any time by Electric Ireland who will notify you of the changes before they take effect. By continuing to use the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme website after being notified of the changes you will be deemed to have accepted such changes.

5.2. Electric Ireland may suspend any or all of the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme website at any time for such reason as it may consider necessary to inspect, maintain, renew, repair, or revise it.

5.3. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland. You and Electric Ireland submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish Courts in relation to any dispute relating to these Terms and Conditions.

Electric Ireland Rewards Programme
Terms and Conditions of SuperValu Real Rewards Promotion

These are Musgrave Limited (“Musgrave”) and Electric Ireland’s Terms and Conditions for SuperValu Real Rewards and Electric Ireland Rewards Programme Members in relation to the Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions are in addition to the SuperValu Real Rewards terms & conditions and Electric Ireland’s Rewards programme terms & conditions, which continue to apply. By registering for Electric Ireland Rewards and SuperValu Real Rewards programme the customer agrees to abide by the Terms of the Rewards Promotion.

1.1. You must be a registered member of Electric Ireland Rewards Programme and a registered member of SuperValu Real Rewards to participate. Only one reward card can be registered. You must complete the Registration Form providing all mandatory details and preferences where indicated to register a SuperValu card for the Rewards Promotion.

1.2. Customers will receive SuperValu Real Rewards points for payments made on their Electric Ireland energy bill, after their SuperValu card has been registered with Electric Ireland. Points can not be awarded retrospectively.

2.1. From the 25th of July 2022, you need to link your Real Reward card to your Electric Ireland account on the Electric Ireland Rewards site.

2.2. From the 25th of July 2022 Real Rewards members who have linked their Electric Ireland and Real Rewards accounts may be allocated Electric Ireland vouchers.

2.3. The value of a voucher is €5 credit against the Electric Ireland account(s) registered on Electric Ireland Rewards and linked to your Real Rewards account.

2.4. You will receive one €5 Electric Ireland voucher per Electric Ireland account providing you have made at least one transaction in a SuperValu store in the Republic of Ireland or with SuperValu online shopping in the previous two-month period.

2.5. The €5 voucher will be applied to your Real Rewards app and the Real Rewards website once every two months. Your first voucher will be issued within the first week of August, providing you have linked your account and made a transaction in SuperValu in ROI or SuperValu online between June and July 2022. If you link your account and shop in SuperValu in ROI or SuperValu online between August and September 2022, you will receive your first voucher in early October. Thereafter, vouchers will be issued every 2 months provided you have scanned your Real Rewards card/app on making a transaction in a SuperValu store in ROI or online in the previous two-month period.

2.6. The value of a voucher is €5 when it is used at www.electricirelandrewards.ie.

2.7. Real Rewards Members can use one €5 voucher code per bill only, to a total of €30 per year per linked Electric Ireland account.

2.8. If you have registered two accounts on Electric Ireland Rewards, i.e., a gas account and an electricity account, you can use up to two voucher codes in a two-month period, one in respect of each registered account.

2.9. Vouchers will be valid for three months from the date they are issued to your Real Rewards app/ website. A voucher that is already earned/held by a customer can still be redeemed, even if the customer de-registers, subject to the 3-month validity limit.

2.10. A voucher code cannot be used twice (i.e., the same code cannot be redeemed against both a gas bill and an electricity bill).

2.11. Vouchers are non-transferable and can only be used as a credit against the registered Electric Ireland account holder’s account.

2.12. Electric Ireland ad Musgrave reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time, including changing the frequency and amount of the vouchers or ceasing the offer and vouchers at any time.

2.13. Vouchers will only be credited against the customer’s energy bill and cannot be provided as cash if the customer’s account is in credit. There is no cash alternative to the voucher.

3.1 From May 19th, 2022, you will stop earning Real Rewards points when you pay your Electric Ireland bill.

3.2 You can continue to redeem any existing Electric Ireland vouchers on your Real Rewards account up to and including 31st July 2022, and the following terms and conditions apply to such redemptions: -.

3.3 Use 250 or 500 Real Rewards points to get a €5/€10 voucher.

3.4 The value of a voucher is €5/€10 credit against the Electric Ireland account(s) registered on Electric Ireland Rewards and linked with your Real Rewards account.

3.5 The value of a voucher is €5 (250 points) or €10 (500 points) when it is used at www.electricirelandrewards.ie.

3.6 Real Rewards Members can use up to 2 voucher codes per bill only.

3.7 If you have registered 2 accounts on Electric Ireland Rewards, i.e., a gas and electricity account, you can use up to 2 voucher codes in any given billing period, one voucher code on each registered account.

3.8 A voucher code cannot be used twice (i.e., it cannot be redeemed against both a gas bill and an electricity bill).

3.9 Vouchers are time bound (i.e., may only be used within specific time periods), are non-transferable and can only be used as a credit against the registered Electric Ireland account holder’s account.

3.10 Vouchers will only be credited against the customer’s energy bill and cannot be provided as cash if the customer’s account is in credit. There is no cash alternative to the voucher

4.1. All customers who have registered for Electric Ireland Rewards are eligible to save money on their energy bills by converting their Supervalu Real Rewards points, with Supervalu for Electric Ireland.

4.2. Customers with Pay As You Go (PAYG) meters who redeem a voucher, are eligible to receive a credit on their meter up to the value of €5 in any given billing period. This credit can take up to 10 days to be credited to your PAYG meter.

4.3. Customers with token meters who redeem a voucher, are eligible to receive a token in credits on their meter once in any given billing period. These credits can take up to 20 days to be sent to you in the post from Electric Ireland.

4.4. The full amount of a voucher or credit can only be applied against one registered account (i.e., vouchers or credit cannot be split between bills). The maximum limit on SuperValu Real Rewards that can be used in any one year for customer with one registered account is €5 per billing cycle and for customers with 2 registered accounts is €10 per billing cycle. A credit will appear on a customer’s account during the next billing cycle (this credit can take up to 10 days to be posted against your account). It will be noted on the back of your Electric Ireland bill and named ‘Your Reward Saving’.

4.5. Vouchers are time bound (i.e., may only be used within specific time periods) and non-transferable and can only be used as a credit against the registered Electric Ireland account holder’s account. Vouchers will only be credited against the customer’s energy bill and cannot be provided as cash if the customer’s account is in credit. There is no cash alternative to the voucher.

5.1. We reserve the right to vary these Terms and Conditions at any time and will notify you of the proposed changes. By continuing to use the Electric Ireland Rewards Programme website and avail of the SuperValu Real Rewards scheme after being notified of the changes you will be deemed to have accepted such changes.

5.2. Electric Ireland will routinely check the status of your electricity and/or gas account to ensure you remain an active customer and the status of your account.

5.3. Electric Ireland will routinely check the validity of your SuperValu Real Rewards card to ensure the card is active.

5.4. Electric Ireland and Musgrave reserve the right to suspend or terminate your use of the Electric Ireland Rewards website and/or the SuperValu Real Rewards programme at any time if you do not adhere to these Terms and Conditions of use.

5.5. Musgrave reserves the right to suspend or terminate the promotion in any SuperValu store

5.6. Neither Electric Ireland or Musgrave shall be liable for any loss suffered by any person or be deemed to be in default for any delays or failures in performance hereunder resulting from acts or causes beyond the reasonable control of Electric Ireland and/or Musgrave.

6.1. Electric Ireland may share your personal data with Musgrave or vice versa, to the extent necessary for the efficient and effective administration of the Rewards Promotion. Electric Ireland and Musgrave will ensure that any personal data so disclosed will only be used for such purposes.

6.2. You agree that Electric Ireland may communicate with you by email or text message with information relating to the Rewards Promotion, including additional offers. Electric Ireland will not use personal data submitted in connection with the Rewards Promotion for other marketing purposes unless you have given your consent.
